Chris Davidson Carpets was established in 1982 by friends and business partners, Chris Secular and Malcolm Davidson.
They dreamed of establishing a business renowned for quality and excellent customer services, and 40 years of supplying homes and businesses in Carlisle, shows they did just that.
When Chris Secular retired, his son Andrew, who already worked in the business, took over from his dad and worked alongside Malcom until he decided to retire too. This created the perfect opportunity for Jo Secular Hall, Chris’s daughter, to join the business and work alongside her brother.
The showroom is over 12,000 square feet over 3 floors and showcases the very best quality carpets and flooring from the very best carpet manufacturers.

Our in-house fitting team ensure you receive the highest quality of fitting, regardless of how complicated the job may be. When Jo joined the business in 2020, just a couple of weeks before the first lockdown, we took this time to look at how we could develop the business further and better serve our customers.
As stockists of Farrow & Ball wallpaper and paints, we wanted to make Chris Davidson Carpet a ‘one stop interiors shop’. We thought of inviting an interior designer to join our team, but then, by chance, Jo met Jo Melrose.
Jo Melrose has successful online interiors business which fits perfectly with our ethos, and it wasn’t long before Wild Rabbit Interiors took up residence in our showroom. Working alongside Jo means visitors to our showroom can see how beautiful, occasional furniture, soft furnishings, wall art and all those finishing touches come together, making Chris Davidson Carpets the place to go to make your house a home.
